A Deaf football programme produced by ITV SignPost has won the Visual Sports Media of the Year 2020 award.

The Muddy Boot Room was voted the winner by the public in the sixth Deaf Sports Personality of the Year Awards.

The monthly programme was presented by Adam Bassett who was joined by guests in the boot room to discuss Deaf football on and off the pitch.

The award recognises media work that engages sport fans and has a positive impact on individuals or society.

Two other programmes produced by the ITV SignPost team - Never Enough and Beautiful Game 2 - were also in the running. All three productions were created in collaboration with the British Sign Language Broadcasting Trust (BSLBT).

Gareth Deighan, Executive Producer, said: "We’re absolutely delighted to have won this award and especially so as it was a public vote. The Muddy Boot Room was made possible by the hard work and enthusiasm of its brilliant team, all of whom I know are incredibly proud of the award. Obviously, it wouldn’t have been possible without the excitement and drama of the teams in the EDF league - and we’re very grateful to them for allowing us to share that drama with a wider audience. We were also very pleased that the other programmes on the shortlist - The Beautiful Game 2 and Never Enough - were SignPost productions, too!”
